Rafael Nadal reached his first tournament final in more than two years on Saturday, coming from a set and a break down to defeat Duje Ajdukovic 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Nordea Open in Bastad, Sweden. Nadal's last ATP Tour final — and win — came in June 2022 at the French Open. After dropping the first set to the Croatian qualifier, Nadal quickly went down in the second set, broken in the first game. But Nadal found another gear, breaking Ajdukovic's serve five times throughout the rest of the two-hour, 13-minute semifinal. "Always it is a great feeling to be back in a final," Nadal, of Spain, said after the clay-court match. "I have won four matches in a row, something I was not able to make happen since two years ago. A lot of things happened, but still in this process of recovering, a lot of things I lost, because I had a very important hip surgery almost one year ago. "So things were not going that easy, but I am fighting. I am fighting during the whole tournament to be where I am today." In the final, Nadal will face No. 7 seed Nuno Borges of Portugal, a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Argentine Thiago Agustin Tirante on Saturday. Hamburg Open Playing in his native country, No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev fed off the home crowd for a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Spain's Pedro Martinez in a semifinal match in Germany. Zverev collected 13 aces to Martinez's one. The only time he let Martinez take a lead was at 1-0 in the first set, and from there the German won six of the next seven games before taking the first two of the second set. French fifth seed Arthur Fils will collide with Zverev in the final after pulling off a 6-2, 6-2 upset of No. 3 seed Sebastian Baez of Argentina. EFG Swiss Open Gstaad Italy's Matteo Berrettini, the No. 6 seed, punched his ticket to the final in Gstaad, Switzerland, completing a stunning 7-6 (6), 7-5 sweep of top-seeded Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. Berrettini won 46 of 50 first-service points while also amassing 27 winners. He rallied from a 6-5 deficit in the first set to force a tiebreaker, where he crawled out of a 5-4 hole to head into the second set with some momentum. French qualifier Quentin Halys also pulled off an upset, beating No. 5 seed Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 6-3, 7-6 (2) in Saturday's other semifinal. Infosys Hall of Fame Open Second seed Marcos Giron outlasted No. 4 seed Christopher Eubanks for a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 win in an all-American semifinal match in Newport, R.I. Giron converted 2 of 3 break points in a dominant third set that saw him race out to a 3-0 lead and never look back. Another American awaits Giron in the final, as No. 3 seed Alex Michelsen ousted wild card and countryman Reilly Opelka 6-2, 6-0 in the other semifinal. –Field Level Media

Sadio Mane has a hamstring injury but Liverpool do not yet know the extent of the problem, manager Jurgen Klopp said.
The Senegal star went off in the first half of the Premier League leaders 2-1 victory at Wolves on Thursday.
Mane pulled up when running for a Mohamed Salah pass and was replaced by Takumi Minamino 33 minutes in.
Klopp hopes the injury is not serious but will wait until further checks can be carried out on Friday.
Sadio, it s a real shame he had to go off, he told BBC Sport. Hopefully, it s not too bad, just a muscle tweak, but we will see tomorrow.
Klopp added in a news conference: He felt something in the hamstring. We don t know yet; we have to wait.

Laurent Courtois retains the backing of CF Montreal president Gabriel Gervais despite a miserable run of form hampering their playoff hopes ahead of Saturday s clash with Charlotte FC.
Montreal sit 13th in the Eastern Conference standings, five points adrift of the wild-card spots with seven games of the regular season remaining.
They were trounced 4-1 at FC Cincinnati prior to the international break, having suffered a humiliating 5-0 home loss to Inter Miami just one week earlier.
Despite those results, Gervais remains convinced Courtois is the right man to oversee Montreal s push for the postseason.
The expectations are the same and we want to get to the playoffs. I m optimistic and I believe in it, but it s up to the coach and the players to find so…

And if that wasn t enough, I got the opportunity to play in the Premier League for Swansea City (and be part of their history by winning their first ever point in the Premier League).
Playing with and against the best players around me gave me the opportunity to keep developing myself and sign for Spurs and made me be able to be part of their history, and especially the (incredible) road to the Champions League final.
I am thankful to play for all these clubs and honoured that I was able to represent my country on international tournaments. A gold medal at the Under-21 European Championship, a silver medal during the World Cup 2010 and a bronze medal at the World Cup 2014… and I played in that last World Cup.

Starting with the hosts, while Osasuna might have picked up a routine 3-0 win against lower-league Olot in the Copa del Rey earlier in the week, that could just be a brief bounce for Los Rojillos. Although the Reds might have marked their return from Spain s festive break with a scrappy 1-1 draw against a fading Real Sociedad last week, they still find themselves firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap. Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola will go down as two of the very best managers, with their rivalry hailed as incredible by Albert Riera.
Guardiola s Manchester City lead the way by a point in the Premier League after their draw with Klopp s Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
It was a repeat of the scoreline from the reverse fixture earlier this season, and is the first time since 2012-13 that they have shared two draws in one league campaign.
A topsy turvy match saw Diogo Jota hit back for Liverpool after Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring, with Sadio Mane cancelling out Gabriel Jesus strike.
The teams will meet again in the FA Cup semi-finals and Riera, who played for both clubs, is fascinated by the rivalry and the skills of both managers.

Diego Simeone spoke of his gratitude for coaching Atletico Madrid after winning for the 300th time in charge of the club but is not letting milestones affect his focus, acknowledging the hierarchy could dismiss him at a moment s notice.
Atletico produced a complete display on Tuesday as they beat high-flying Real Sociedad 2-0 in San Sebastian to go three points clear at LaLiga s summit.
It was their ninth clean sheet in 13 league games this term, while only in 1995-96 had they conceded fewer goals (four) at this stage of the season than in 2020-21 (five).
The victory means Simeone – in charge since 2011 – is only eight adrift of Luis Aragones all-time club record of 308 wins across all competitions.

Manager Dave Challinor has challenged Stockport to take their impressive form into the play-offs after missing out on an automatic promotion spot with a 1-1 draw against Hartlepool.
County needed to win and hope Northampton didn’t if they were to overtake them but they will now have to face Salford in the post-season.
Callum Cooke’s second-half strike cancelled out Callum Camps’ penalty to give relegated Hartlepool a point, with the latter also having a stoppage-time spot-kick saved by Ben Killip.
Challinor, whose side are unbeaten since February, said: “In terms of the amount of chances we created and the amount of shots we had on goal, that’s probably the most we’ve had all season, which is really positive.
